BioID in its current version is a software development kit (SDK) that includes advanced biometric recognition techniques, which can be used alone or in combination:

• Fast and accurate face finding and robust face recognition (facial scan) even with low-cost, low-quality video hardware
• Speaker recognition using speech enhancement for increased robustness in adverse acoustic conditions
• Lip movement recognition
• Fusion of multiple biometric traits

The BioID SDK facilitates rapid and flexible integration of some or all of these technologies within customer-specific applications. Biometric authentication by HumanScan is the answer to either higher security or higher convenience needs that cannot be met by traditional means of authentication like PIN number, passwords or token-based methods. Therefore, BioID technology enables easier, more convenient and more secure human-computer interaction (HCI) for a wide range of applications.

In addition to these biometric solutions that are already fully integrated within the BioID SDK, research systems of the company have been developed in the following areas:

• Iris recognition with off-the-shelf hardware by using advanced resolution enhancement techniques
